Yarmouth residents authorized the purchase of a new ambulance through the approval of Article 10. The purchase will be funded through the ambulance revenue fund, which is populated by fees collected for emergency medical services rather than through new taxes.

Select Board member Dorcas McGuran explained that the fire department’s life safety equipment is consistently funded through this dedicated account. The ambulance fund account currently has $2,264,631, McGuran reported, indicating that the fund has ample resources to cover the replacement cost. The new vehicle is part of a routine replacement cycle to ensure the reliability of the town’s emergency response fleet.
