Yarmouth voters approved a $54,370,811 municipal operating budget for Fiscal Year 2027 under Article 2. The budget covers the town’s essential services, including salaries, benefits, and departmental expenses for the upcoming year.
Select Board Chair Tracy Post presented the motion, which included a complex series of transfers from various town accounts such as the Wetlands, Waterways, Ferry Tax, and Ambulance Reserve funds to balance the appropriation. Town Moderator Ken Muddy praised the fiscal plan, stating, This budget is balanced, affordable, within the perimeters of Proposition 2 and a half, and provides the best possible service and facilities to the town.
The budget's approval comes as Yarmouth navigates a period of intensive capital planning and regional education cost spikes.
